This project challenged me to design a unique pavilion to grace the river's edge in downtown Baton Rouge.
The inspiration behind this space was the state bird: the pelican. The Louisiana State Bird Pavilion's materiality was chosen to depict the bird's natural habitat.
Through the use of wrapping and with an emphasis on circulation, the structure was designed to house and showcase local art while allowing a visitor to take in the views of the river.
